John Mason is a professional engineer and an e-Hazard trainer and consultant based in California. He has expertise in developing protective device settings, short circuit calculations, device duty calculations and performing arc flash hazard analysis. He has extensive experience performing Acceptance, Maintenance, and Commissioning of Electrical Distribution Equipment. As a consultant, he has worked with a wide variety of clients to help correct equipment deficiencies and improve performance.
Since 2015, John has had his own consulting company, Power Protection Engineering, whose clients are electrical contractors, facilities managers and building owners. Previously he was a field engineer at Apparatus Testing and Engineering, where he performed short circuit, coordination, arc flash and load flow studies on many different types of facilities across California. He is a California-licensed professional engineer with a bachelor of science in Mechanical Engineering and certification from NFPA as a Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional.
