SIBLEY, Iowa — 5 people performing electrical work were injured on the job at the Timewell Tile manufacturing plant in Sibley, Iowa.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s office says the explosion happened while workers were switching some power lines to a newer transformer.
The five men sustained burns in the accident and were transported to nearby hospitals. Two of them were airlifted. Five more arc flash injuries. NESC and NFPA 70E can be used by more companies to prevevent these types of incidents.
Could this have been de-energized, were they wearing arc flash PPE?
