Scholarship for Majors Geared Toward Safety and Health
Do you know a college student already enrolled in a major geared toward safety and health?
If you do, let him or her know of an ISEA scholarship that is now taking applications. ISEA stands for International Safety Equipment Association.
The Daniel K. Shipp Scholarship awards $2500 to a student who meets the requirements of the scholarship. This annually-awarded scholarship is open to college undergraduate students.
Some careers in safety and health include, but are not limited to, Environmental Science, Fire Protection, Health Physics, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health and Safety, etc.
The review panel who will consider the applications is independent and unaffiliated with ISEA. This is the criteria they will be looking at:
Eligible students must be enrolled in a North American college full-time (12 credit hours per semester, trimester, or quarter).
The student must have at least one year of study remaining in his or her degree program.
The review panel awards the scholarship based on academic and extra-curricular achievement as well as financial need. You can read the full requirements here.

History of the Scholarship
ISEA created the Daniel K. Shipp Scholarship Fund in 2017.
ISEA recognizes the contribution of Daniel Shipp, who worked as President of ISEA for twenty-five years and made ISEA “the Voice of the Safety Equipment Industry.” During his career, Mr. Shipp successfully brought together the work of ISEA members to make ISEA a recognized leader in the development of safety equipment standards.
ISEA actively works to enhance the field of Health and Safety. They also work to encourage and enable college students to enter the fields of occupational health and safety. Out of this mission, ISEA developed the scholarship fund.
