Is there any danger in wearing ARC 2 arc rated clothing over a balaclava?

[dropcap]Q.[/dropcap]My question is in relation to wearing 40cal headwear with level 2 clothing. Is it permissible to wear the level 2 clothing over the balaclava or to tuck the balaclava into the clothing? Is there any potential hazard associated with this or could it reduce the effectiveness of the balaclava?

[dropcap]A. [/dropcap]Although I have never seen anyone burned by tucking the front piece of the balaclava in as it might make it slightly more difficult to breathe, it is not unacceptable. It is actually not a bad protection idea.  Do remember that sweat is not your friend in arc flash either.  It can reduce protection in the area the arc hits by as much as 50%.
