OSHA Citations Against Dowa THT America

Dowa THT America, Inc., of Bowling Green, OH, has been issued several citations from OSHA.

Proposed fines total over $1,300,000.

The company was cited for twenty-five willful, serious, and other-than-serious violations.

One of those citations includes failure of the employer to provide PPE for employees that would protect them from electrical shock and arc flash.

Electrical-related citations include the following:

  • Employees were not trained in and familiar with electrical safety-related work practices [1910.332(b)(1)]
  • Employer did not make sure employees implemented electrical safety work habits to prevent injury from shock and arc flash 1910.333(a)]
  • Employees were not given appropriate PPE for the potential electrical hazards in areas of work [1910.335(a)(1)(i)]

The company has also been put on OSHA’s Severe Violator Enforcement Program.
