OSHA has proposed that Modern Painting & Decorating of Springdale Borough in PA be fined $57,900 for workplace safety violations in connection with the death of a worker who came in contact with a 7,500-volt power line while using a plastic-coated aluminum paint stick with a roller. OSHA claims that employees were permitted to work to close to energized electric power circuits. The standard is 10 ft under most circumstances but that is the distance of the object from the powerlines.
