A 21-year-old worker came in contact with power lines while doing construction work at a Pittsburgh residence. According to a news report, he fell off scaffolding after making contact with the lines. He was pronounced dead at a Pittsburgh hospital.

His employer, Ski Masonry, has been given two willful and five serious citations by OSHA; the proposed fines are $201,354. The contractor is also on OSHA’s Severe Violator Enforcement Program (SVEP).

The citations include knowingly allowing employees to work within 10 feet of overhead, energized, and uninsulated electrical lines; failing to provide fall protection; and using scaffolding without a secure base plate.
