ISO 45001 OH&S Changes to your NFPA 70E Program

The new ISO 45001 sets requirements for occupational health and safety management systems.

It is currently known as OHSAS (Occupational Health & Safety Advisory Services) 18001, but come 2016, later in the year, that standard will be known as ISO 45001.

The themes of OHSAS 18001 will remain the same, according to committee chairman David Smith. ISO 45001 will be different in that top management positions will be more involved in the safety and health issues of their company. Another difference will be that employers will have to take a wider look at how their practices affect the health and safety of not only their workers but also their contractors, suppliers, and even surrounding neighborhoods.
